Tesla Model Y Proving Popular on Evee Rental Platform in Australia
The Tesla Model Y has become a popular choice on EV car-hire service Evee in Australia, as reported by The Driven.
The news makes Evee the first car-hire company to receive the Model Y in Australia, even beating out Hertz and Sixt — the latter of which already has the Tesla Model 3 and the MG ZS EVs.
Currently, the Model Y accounts for only one-fifth of the vehicles on the platform but it has made up roughly 40 percent of hires.

“A lot has changed since 2019. There are over 150 EVs on the platform now. We more than doubled the number of cars as well as the rental days three years in a row. The growth is very optimistic and very encouraging,” said CEO Slava Kozlovskii. “The platform has over 30 Model Ys available across Australia and Evee remains the only place to rent one in the country.”
Evee has 11 EVs out of a total of 150 vehicles in the platform, which range from a BYD T3 van and an e6, as well as a few Hyundai Ioniq 5 units and a Mercedes-Benz EQC both in Perth. Additionally, the company has a Mini Cooper SE in Melbourne, a BMW i3 in Sydney and a pair of Polestar 2 units in Sydney and Melbourne.
Still, Tesla remains the best-represented brand for the car-hire company, with the Model 3 accounting for the platform’s largest number of EVs.
