Tesla Adds ‘Cyber Helipad’ to Giga Texas, Along with ‘Cyber’ Planters [VIDEO]

A new 4K drone video shared by Jeff Roberts on Saturday showcases a brand new addition to Gigafactory Texas — the “cyber helipad,” as Roberts called it.

Drone footage captured by Roberts on Friday gave us a look at a now-completed new parking lot on the Giga Texas premises, which also houses a helipad.

It is not clear what Tesla intends to use this helipad for, given that the local airport is only a 10-minute drive from Giga Texas. However, with Tesla CEO Elon Musk permanently moving from California to Texas and spending most of his time at the Austin Gigafactory, he could possibly benefit from an on-site helipad.

“According to the FAA, helipads in controlled airspace (Giga Texas is class C controlled airspace) must be treated the same as an airport, meaning, you can’t fly a drone over or near it once it’s operational,” Roberts wrote in the description of his video.

We’ll have to wait and see how the helipad’s presence impacts Roberts’ ability to document what’s happening at the facility once it becomes operational.

Roberts also noted that his flyover caught lots of work being done at the cathode building, more castings on the casting apron, and significant progress being made on the solar roof.

Also spotted were some ‘Cyber’ garden planters in the shape of Cubertruck:
