Musk has repeatedly praised the Tesla China team as “awesome”.
Despite recent slowdowns at Giga Shanghai, due to government-mandated COVID-19 shutdowns, the factory is ramping up production to full speed again.
Recently, a sea of reportedly 9,000 Tesla vehicles were seen at the Shanghai South Port Terminal, destined for Europe and other areas in the Asia region.
As of Tesla’s recent Q2, the company stated Giga Shanghai’s annual production capacity has now increased to 750,000 cars, up from 450,000. Tesla’s total annual production capacity is now at 1.9 million cars, taking its Fremont factory into account, along with Giga Shanghai, Giga Texas and Giga Berlin.
