Next Tesla FSD Beta Release Coming in ‘Two Weeks’, Says Elon Musk

As many are speculating when Tesla’s next Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta software version will come out, the automaker’s head has responded to one user on social media.

@Elon Musk said on late Thursday the next FSD beta would be coming out in “two weeks.”

The post came in response to the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley group asking when the version would come out, following an earlier exchange between the accounts.

The statements came in a thread following the Silicon Valley Tesla Owners page saying that “It’s an incredible feeling not having to buy gas,” to which @Musk responded saying “Gas stating lighting is brutal.”

It’s unclear if the next FSD beta version will remain in the 10.12.x fork or jump to 10.13, which Musk previously said would be a huge update able to navigate with just cameras and without GPS data.

Tesla began rolling out FSD beta version 10.12.2 earlier this week, beginning with those of a 95 and higher safety score, while further expansion has seen those with Safety Scores of 93 also getting the beta.

One video shared on Thursday shows a Tesla driver with FSD beta 10.12.2 attempting a series of forward-facing unprotected left turns.

Another video shared by the same account earlier this week shows the Tesla FSD beta attempting other unprotected left turns.

In addition to U.S. markets, Tesla is reportedly “close” to reaching regulator review for FSD in Europe.

Tesla also released the FSD beta in Canada in March, after promising the feature for months before that.
