President Biden Wishes Elon Musk, SpaceX ‘Lots of Luck’ on Moon Mission [VIDEO]

On Friday, U.S. President Joe Biden responded to Elon Musk’s earlier claim that he had a “super bad feeling about” the country’s economy, with Biden wishing him “lots of luck on his trip to the moon.”

In response to President Biden, @ElonMusk wrote “Thanks Mr. President!” and shared a link to a press release detailing NASA’s choice to use SpaceX for the upcoming Artemis moon mission.

In Musk’s original statement, he said that his concerns about the economy would cause Tesla to cut 10 percent of its salaried staff members, increasing instead the amount of hourly workers.

Biden dismissed Musk’s job cuts email, to then tout the increase of union jobs from traditional U.S. automakers, along with also touting Intel. “Lots of luck on his trip to the moon, I don’t know,” said the President.

NASA selected SpaceX for the Artemis mission to the moon in March, which will use SpaceX’s upcoming Starship reusable spacecraft.

SpaceX is still awaiting a final environmental review from the FAA for Starship’s first orbital flight, with a delayed decision pegged for later this month.

President Biden and Musk have gone back and forth before, beginning with Biden’s lack of mentioning Tesla in the growing electric vehicle (EV) sector in a meeting at the White House last year.

In the past, Musk has said Biden is controlled by unions, noting the fact that Tesla is not a union company.

Still, the Biden administration sought Musk’s semiconductor shortage-skirting expertise earlier this year, to help alleviate supply issues with the chips like Tesla has managed to do amidst shortages the past few years.
