Buy SpaceX Merch with Dogecoin? Coming Soon Says Elon Musk

It’s no secret that Tesla and SpaceX head Elon Musk supports cryptocurrencies over fiat currency, and soon fans of both companies will be able to buy goods with Dogecoin.

@Elon Musk said on Friday that users will be able to purchase SpaceX merch using Dogecoin soon, just like they’re able to purchase Tesla merch with the cryptocurrency now.

While Tesla already allows people to buy merch with Dogecoin, the announcement suggests that the update may be coming sooner, rather than later.

The news comes just a few months after someone discovered the Dogecoin image inside of SpaceX’s Starlink app, which seems to support the theory that users will soon be able to purchase merch with the digital coin.

The Tesla website code also mentioned Dogecoin as a payment type as early as January of this year, just a few weeks before the automaker let users buy merch with the cryptocurrency.

SpaceX also plans to fund a lunar launch with Dogecoin, dubbed the Doge-1 Mission.

Dogecoin is also using SpaceX’s Starlink internet to increase access to cryptocurrency for those in certain remote regions.

In a follow-up question on the Thursday thread, one user asked if Starlink users would someday be able to pay their subscriptions in Dogecoin.

@Elon Musk responded saying, “Maybe one day.”
