Tesla Hiring for New ‘Hardcore Litigation Department’ Says Elon Musk
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet Friday afternoon that the company plans on creating “a hardcore litigation department.”
Musk invited applications to join the planned unit, which he said will directly initiate and execute lawsuits for the company. The litigation team will report directly to him, the CEO added.
Tesla is building a hardcore litigation department where we directly initiate & execute lawsuits. The team will report directly to me.
Please send 3 to 5 bullet points describing evidence of exceptional ability.

Tesla hasn’t had a full-fledged, dedicated litigation department yet. However, the electric vehicle (EV) maker could certainly use one considering how many lawsuits it has been the subject of. Over the years, Tesla has been sued for everything from disagreements over past trades to sexual harassment.
Musk went on to say that he has a couple of commitments for this new legal wing. First, the team will never seek victory in a just lawsuit against Tesla, even if they are likely to win. Second, the team will never surrender or settle an unjust suit against the company, even if they are likely to lose.
My commitment:
– We will never seek victory in a just case against us, even if we will probably win.
– We will never surrender/settle an unjust case against us, even if we will probably lose.

Musk encouraged interested candidates to apply with “3 to 5 bullet points describing evidence of exceptional ability” at justice@tesla.com.
“Looking for hardcore streetfighters, not white-shoe lawyers like Perkins or Cooley who thrive on corruption. There will be blood,” added Musk.
Given the sheer frequency with which Tesla has to engage outside counsel to defend or initiate cases, hiring an entire litigation department may actually cost the company less.
And, for the record, those wild accusations are utterly untrue

Recently, a Business Insider story alleges Musk sexually harassed a flight attendant in 2016, to which the CEO responded those accusations “are utterly untrue.”
