The launch variant of the Lucid Air, the Dream Edition, was delivered at a special event last year, and despite only having a small number of electric vehicles (EV) on the road, the sedan is making headlines.
@Cars.com shared a post naming the 2022 Lucid Air Dream Edition its Top Pick for a luxury EV on Tuesday.
The publication cited the Lucid Air Dream’s 520-mile range, cargo space, the responsiveness of its multimedia ecosystem and a benchmark luxury interior.

Despite its raving reviews, Lucid Air reservations surpassed 10,000 last summer, while the automaker delivered less than 200 units in 2021.
As one user in the thread puts it, “getting one is challenging.”
Still, there has been no shortage of high praise for the Lucid Air, with many posing it as a significant future competitor to EV giant Tesla.
Auto reviewer Doug DeMuro also called the Lucid Air Dream Edition a “major Tesla rival” in a video shared in December.
The Lucid Air also won Motortrend’s 2022 Car of the Year award, saying in an earlier review that the Air was a “mic drop” for the EV startup.
The news also came just months after fellow auto publication Road & Track said the Lucid Air “should make Tesla sweat.”
