Tesla Service Center in Langford, B.C. Confirmed by Mayor
We already know Tesla is set to open its first location in Greater Victoria on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada, set for Langford, but now the details have been confirmed by Mayor Stew Young.
Langford’s Mayor told CTV News Tesla will open a showroom and service center in the city, near Costco. According to Young, the new Tesla location will allow existing owners to have their cars serviced locally, thus creating an incentive to switch to an electric car.
“We’re excited about attracting it,” said Young. “We’ve been working on this for about a year to attract a dealership like Tesla, with the high technology there, and the jobs that are going to be created.”
Young also revealed there are plans for the West Shore RCMP to get a fleet of electric police cars, without going into specifics.
According to Langford Mayor Stew Young, Tesla Motors will open an island dealership and service centre somewhere in the neighborhood surrounding Costco.
The Mayor told CTV News he plans to make an official announcement on the new Tesla location next week.
Tesla is set to open up a temporary location in downtown Victoria, located adjacent to Ferny’s Autobody, which the company operates out of at times for customer vehicle servicing.
The upcoming Langford Tesla location would be the automaker’s first official location on Vancouver Island. For major servicing that cannot be done locally, Tesla owners had to travel by ferry to the Lower Mainland and visit service centers in Metro Vancouver.
