Tesla Gigafactory Texas Grand Opening Party Date: April 7, Says Elon Musk
Back in December, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced the company would be holding a grand opening party for its Gigafactory in Texas, set for early 2022.
On Friday evening, Musk gave a precise date for the Giga Texas opening party, now set to take place on April 7, 2022. Musk originally said it was coming on April 1, but later tweeted out an update of April 7.

Musk previously stated the Giga Texas grand opening party would have “factory tours for the community in early 2022”, similar to what took place at Giga Berlin in Germany back in October.
Tesla has a website at giga-fest.com that was created for registration for the Giga Berlin party. The company may use it again for Giga Austin.
Giga Texas has been busy and many Model Y vehicles have been spotted coming out of the production line, but it’s unclear when these completed vehicles will gain final certifications for delivery to customers.
Tesla stated during its Q4 2021 earnings call the first Model Y vehicles from Giga Texas will include the newest 4680 structural battery packs. Earlier today, Tesla revealed it had produced 1 million 4680 battery cells, a milestone achieved in January of this year.
