First Drives: Tesla FSD Beta 10.10 without Rolling Stops Feature [VIDEOS]

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta was recently changed to remove a rolling stop feature at stop signs, after complaints were lodged with the NHTSA.

James Locke shared video footage testing Tesla’s updated FSD beta update 10.10, taken from inside his Model 3, as the latest version of the test software was released yesterday to more early testers.

The FSD beta 10.10 update removed rolling stops after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Tesla determined that a recall notice was necessary.

The FSD feature in the video requires very few interventions, with Locke discussing the drive along the way, on his same test loop that he’s been demonstrating for a while now with FSD beta.

Locke reports that the vehicle still feels like a smooth ride at stop signs, even with the rolling stop feature disabled. During the drive, Locke only needed to tap the accelerator twice, with the vehicle handling everything else seamlessly.

Some users in the comments reported that the stops even looked a little too timid on high-profile turns at intersections.

Tesla currently has around 60,000 cars testing FSD beta across the U.S. About three weeks ago, Tesla Head Elon Musk also said that the FSD beta is to hit Canada in 2-4 weeks, but that remains to be seen.

You can see Locke’s full ‘Test Loop 1’ using FSD beta 10.10 — without the rolling stop feature — in a Tesla Model 3 here.
