Tesla Removes Model 3 ‘Lowered Suspension’ Animation from Website

Tesla removed the wording on its Tesla Model 3 order configurator for the Performance variant’s lowered suspension last month, but the animation remained when switching between the latter and the entry Long Range version.

Now, Tesla has removed the animation altogether on its website, to go with the wording’s removal last month, seemingly confirming the feature is no longer available for new orders (via Reddit).

Some users speculated that the change could be making way for air suspension, a highly-anticipated feature for which some found in images in Tesla’s firmware last year that’s currently available for premium Model S and X units. That may seem far-fetched at this point, however.

Others noted that it could simply be streamlining the Model 3’s design in order to be able to produce them even faster — which they say has been noted in the past by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The original poster also noted that the Model Y configurator still includes the wording and animation of lowered springs, perhaps only because SUVs benefit more from the change.

The change of wording and animation for the Model 3 Performance’s lowered suspension was initially reported last month.

Last week, Tesla’s Model 3 was ranked first in a customer satisfaction survey conducted by J.D. Power.

The Model 3 also managed to garner a perfect score on a health index in China the day prior.

Tesla’s Model 3 is Tesla’s flagship sedan, and it also recently gained new approvals and range updates in Europe, where the electric vehicle (EV) is currently the best-selling EV across the market.
