Rental vehicle company Hertz made headlines last year with its plan to purchase a fleet of Tesla Model 3 units, and now the company is offering a limited-time deal for those that rent the electric vehicle (EV).

Hertz is now extending free Supercharging for all Tesla Model 3 rentals between now and March 1, according to a notice shared by the company, according to @BLKMDL3.

The notice says it applies to “Model 3 rentals picked up before March 1, 2022,” adding that vehicle drivers may still be subject to idle fees at the Supercharger stations.

Previously, Hertz said Tesla bookings from November 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022, would get free charging at Superchargers. That has now been extended.

“Our flagship EV is the Tesla Model 3, a luxurious 4-door sedan that features up to 260-mile driving range on a full charge and is the best-selling electric car in the world,” explained Hertz last October.

While it’s unclear when Hertz plans to receive all of its Tesla Model 3 units, the company has already been renting out EVs since the first week of November.

The company also plans to unveil the ability to rent a Hertz Model 3 to drive with for Uber, according to an email that surfaced earlier this month.

The Tesla Model 3 landed the best-selling EV in the world in 2021 for the fourth consecutive year, with a few countries even seeing the automaker top its overall auto sales for the first time.

Tesla was Norway’s top-selling auto brand overall in 2021, while the Model 3 was Switzerland’s top-selling automobile overall throughout the year — even eliciting a word of praise from Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
