Tesla’s Mobile App to Let You Set Your Car’s Name Soon

Tesla’s new app version 4.5.0 on iOS is now available with a number of new features, as pointed out by @Tesla_App_iOS – an account that tracks Tesla app updates for iPhones.

The account shared photos of source code from the Tesla app, depicting a number of features currently in development or now available through the recent update.

New updates for the Tesla app on iPhone include the ability to set a vehicle name from the mobile app, as well as new navigation strings for each the “contact us” page, the financing calculator and for the app’s section on Tesla energy.

Currently, setting your Tesla vehicle’s name requires it to be done inside your vehicle.

In addition to the aforementioned updates, the new Tesla app on iOS also includes new mentions of rate plans and advanced charging information, along with mentions of active and expired warranties.

The app also includes a handful of new visual assets, including a charging Model 3 unit, a secondary vehicle odometer and a visual for Tesla’s trade-in inspection program, along with several other new features still.

Just last month, Tesla also added the ability to add drivers via the mobile app, as well as the ability to share your car key with other users.

Those who have Tesla insurance also gained the ability to manage policies and claims through the mobile app. The latest update also added Apple Wallet support for iPhone users that are Tesla Insurance policyholders.
