Tesla Model 3/Y Cars Made in USA Now Get AMD Ryzen, New Front Camera and More
Tesla Model Y vehicles made in Shanghai, China, were found to include new AMD Ryzen chips, and now we’re seeing these being included in Model 3 and Model Y cars made at the company’s Fremont plant in California.
According to images shared by @Teslascope, we see a picture of ‘Additional Vehicle Information’ that shows in English, detailing the Infotainment Processor as ‘AMD Ryzen’.

@Teslascope says these Model 3 and Model Y cars also now have a 12V lithium-ion battery, as seen below. The third-party Tesla software tracking service told Tesla North the images were shared by a friend who took delivery of a Model 3 Long Range in Portland, Oregon.
Also, Teslascope explains there’s also a “brand new front camera housing”. It’s unclear if there are new cameras at this time, but you can see a picture of the new housing below:
This vehicle did not include rear acoustic glass, as we’re seeing from Model Y cars made in Shanghai.
Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in Europe are also apparently set to get AMD Ryzen chips as well. Tesla continues to upgrade and tweak its vehicles at a fast pace, and for now, we’ll wait and see if an official retrofit option will be available for older vehicles.
