The news comes after Tesla repeatedly hiked the price of the Model Y Performance in the U.S. during the last couple of months. At the time of writing, the

The Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 tires are part of the veteran tire maker’s new line of electric vehicle-specific tires. They are extremely well-reviewed and are revered as excellent “winter” tires, making them especially suitable for regions that get a lot of snow.

Tesla’s online parts catalogue now shows these new tires in a staggered setup, in 255/35 and 275/35 specifications:

  • Michelin, Pilot Sport AS 4, TIRE, 255/35R21 98W XL FRONT
  • Michelin, Pilot Sport AS 4, TIRE, 275/35R21 103W XL REAR

Michelin’s Pilot Sport AS 4 tires are known to be extremely versatile and capable of handling an array of weather and road conditions but also come with a slight performance and range penalty. They also offer a handling improvement over the Model Y Performance’s stock tires.

Another Reddit user who recently took delivery of a Model Y Performance in Vancouver, British Columbia, confirmed in a comment that Tesla is shipping the car with the new Michelin Pilot AS 4 tires in Canada as well.

Just last week, Tesla launched the Model Y Performance in China and delivered the very first unit.

Aparently, this article is false, I ordered a model y performance last night and called Tesla today as I was completing the process to verify I’d get all-seasons and they said I have no control over it I would most likely get performance tires unless maybe I took delivery in the winter. Would appreciate it if the author of this article could cite proof what he says is true because it certainly was not for me and this is June 24, 2022. And I ordered the car in June 23, 2022. Now I’m likely out my $250 deposit cancelling this because I don’t want performance tires on the performance model.

We ordered a Model Y Performance in May 2022 and took delivery in July/August and it came with the Michelin Pilot All Season 4 tires.
