Tesla Launches Model Y Leasing in Some European Countries

According to Tesla enthusiast Tesla_Adri (@tesla_adri) the company has just launched leasing options for its all-electric Model Y CUV in a number of European countries.

Leasing mostly makes sense for businesses and enterprise customers. It is unclear whether Tesla will give customers the option to buy the vehicle at the end of their leasing period.

@Tesla_Adri was able to confirm that leasing is available as a payment option in Germany. Germany recently became Tesla’s biggest European market, despite the fact that the company’s Berlin Gigafactory is still awaiting final permit approval.

In September, Tesla’s Model 3 became the first electric vehicle (EV) to top overall car sales across Europe, signifying the automaker’s success in the region.

In response to Tesla_Adri’s original tweet, a number of Twitter users confirmed that a lease option for the Model Y is also available in Switzerland and Luxembourg. However, the option is confirmed to not be available in France, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Estonia, and Poland as of yet. Tesla does offer third-party leasing in Poland, though.

There is no word yet on when (or if) leasing options for the Model Y will expand to other European countries. The Tesla Model Y has been available to lease in the U.S., Tesla’s home market, since July of last year.
