Tesla FSD Beta 9.2 Test Impresses on Narrow Streets [VIDEO]
In a recently published YouTube video, AI DRIVR takes their Tesla down to the narrow streets of Berkeley Hills in California and puts Full Self-Driving beta 9.2 to the test.
FSD beta 9.2 started rolling out with software update 2021.12.25.15 late last week.
Beta 9.2 handled the narrow, obstacle-ridden streets exceptionally well. Obstacle detection throughout the test was on-point, with the software accurately recognizing everything from vehicles to trash cans parked along the sides of the road.
FSD was also successful at tackling all sorts of turns throughout the test and didn’t have to be ‘nudged’ in the right direction by the driver even once. While the vehicle did slow down a tad too much when making turns with a lot of parked vehicles in the way, Full Self-Driving is designed to err on the side of caution, and that’s definitely for the best.
Tesla now offers Full Self-Driving not only as a one-time upgrade, but also as a monthly subscription (provided that you’re in the U.S.).
As for what the future looks like for the Full Self-Driving beta, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a recent tweet that we should expect beta versions 9.3 and 9.4 before beta version 10. V10, however, is going to be a major update with significant architecture changes.
9.3, probably 9.4 & then maybe 10. Significant architecture changes in 10.
