Just over a month after a Tesla Model 3 in camo wrap was spotted testing in India, another Tesla model was spotted in the country on Tuesday.

A Tesla Model Y was spotted testing on roads in India, according to an Instagram video shared by Tesmanian (via Tesla Club India). The video depicts the Tesla Model Y driving in the right lane on a highway, and features a right-hand driving (RHD) steering wheel.

While only the Model 3 had previously been seen testing on Indian roads, this is the first encounter onlookers have had with the Model Y, though both of which are certainly within shipping proximity to Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory.

The footage also comes just a few days after the Indian government asked Tesla for sourcing plans and a roadmap before it would consider lowered import duties – for which Tesla has been lobbying in recent weeks.

Earlier this year, an Indian Minister said the country could offer Tesla the lowest production costs in the world if the company could build a factory within the country.

Tesla appointed a Country Director for its operations in India in May, just weeks after hiring a lobbying executive and starting the search for showroom space.
