First Look: Sudbury’s Tesla Model 3 Fleet For Paramedics
Back in April, the Canadian City of Sudbury in Ontario, Canada, announced it was set to purchase a Tesla Model 3 fleet for its paramedic services, and four months later, we have updated images to share of this new electric vehicle line up.
The Model 3 vehicles purchased include four cars for use as non-emergency EMS vehicles, supporting its target as a city to develop a zero-emissions fleet by 2035.
We can see the first images of these Tesla Model 3 cars in images shared by the Devin Arthur of the Sudbury EV Society with Electric Autonomy, as seen below:
In the press release, the city said that the purchase “makes Greater Sudbury one of the first municipalities in Canada to add electric vehicles to its Paramedic Services fleet in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.” The release continued, “The City also has three hybrid ambulances as part of its fleet, with another three to be delivered in the coming months.”

Last month, Canada announced a $32 million USD investment into the addition of 853 new electric vehicle (EV) chargers, set to begin rolling out as a part of the federal government’s target to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
While Sudbury and the province of Ontario itself are helping to push EV adoption throughout the country, Vancouver leads Canada in new EV registrations, according to a recent report.
