Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Wednesday evening the company’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Day for 2021 will take place on Thursday, August 19. Musk did not clarify whether the event will be held in-person or would be virtual. It’s likely Tesla will stream the event for all to see.

The company uses its AI Day to share more details about the current and future status of its Full Self-Driving software and Tesla’s Neural Net.

Update July 28, 9:56pm PDT: Musk confirms, “Convincing the best AI talent to join Tesla is the sole goal” of AI Day.

Last August, Musk said, “Tesla is developing a NN training computer called Dojo to process truly vast amounts of video data. It’s a beast! Please consider joining our AI or computer/chip teams if this sounds interesting.”

Back in April, Musk said AI Day would “probably” take place in late July, but now the company has decided on a date in August.

Recently, Tesla moved its Autopilot and FSD over to ‘Pure Vision’, which relies only on cameras and no longer on radar.

Tesla recently launched FSD subscriptions priced at $199 USD per month, albeit the addition of FSD beta 9 which includes Autosteer for city streets, is not available for the public yet.

Back in June, Tesla detailed its third and most recent cluster of Autopilot supercomputers, as detailed by Tim Zaman, the company’s Autopilot Artificial Intelligence Engineering Manager:
