Tesla Price Increase: Model S Long Range Up €5,000 in Germany

As Tesla’s vehicles continue to dominate the global electric vehicle (EV) market, the company has needed to make minor pricing adjustments as time has gone on.

In a new update, Tesla has increased the price of its Model S Long-Range (LR) variant in Germany and across Europe by €5,000 ($5,903 USD), equating to a new price of €91,990 ($108,614 USD) according to the company’s German order configurator (via Tesla Adri).

In addition to the Model S increase, Tesla Adri also reported the possibility for a similar price change to the Model X, though he says he’s “not 100% sure.”

The company also increased prices for its Model S and X units in the U.S. by $5,000. In recent weeks, Tesla added the Model 3 Long Range to the German lineup, along with a €2,000 ($2,361 USD) price cut in comparison with other countries.

In addition to the price and model changes, Tesla says the Model Y and Model S Plaid will hit Europe in Q3, as exported from the company’s Shanghai Gigafctory. While the company’s Shanghai factory has been exporting vehicles to locations throughout Europe, the trip will only be necessary for a few more months as Tesla inches closer to having its Berlin Gigafactory completed.

Tesla also announced last month that it may eventually open its Supercharger network to other automakers in Germany, which could help to increase mainstream adoption throughout the country.
