Tesla Solar is widely coveted, and despite how impressive the company’s Solar Roof is, solar panels still make up the vast majority of the company’s solar business.

On Tuesday, electrek reported that Tesla has unveiled a new larger 420-watt solar panel, according to third-party Tesla solar installers that received datasheets for the new product.

The new panel is a major upgrade from Tesla’s previous top-tier option, the 340-watt solar panel, allowing installers to place fewer modules per installation.

A datasheet Tesla shared with installers said, “The Tesla module is one of the most powerful residential photovoltaic modules available. Our system requires up to 20 percent fewer modules to achieve the same power as a standard system. The module boasts a high conversion efficiency and a half-cell architecture that improves shade tolerance.”

The news comes amidst CEO Elon Musk’s court appearances defending Tesla’s decision to buy SolarCity, a solar company run by Musk’s cousins – of which Musk also had a 22 percent stake at the time of purchase in 2016.

The company is also facing a class-action lawsuit in a California court, a case which grouped California and Pennsylvania solar customers together following Tesla’s quiet raising of the price of solar installation fees, after a contract had already been signed.
