Major Tesla Shipment Arrives in Switzerland By Train

A shipment of Tesla’s electric vehicles (EVs) was spotted arriving in Switzerland earlier this week, and recent buyers in the country are expressing their excitement.

On Thursday, software engineer Simon M. Butscher shared footage of a train carrying roughly 204 Teslas in Switzerland, which will reportedly be delivered to customers throughout the course of the next week.

In a follow-up tweet answering what the destination would be, Butscher responded that they were going “to central of Switzerland for further distribution.”

The shipment has buyers in Switzerland eager to meet their Teslas, some of which may have ordered them months ago. One buyer in Switzerland, Robin, said, “One of those is mine. I’ll meet it tomorrow at 10. Can’t Wait.”

The Tesla Model 3 led Swiss EV sales last year, while the Model X also managed to land a spot in the country’s top 20 selling EVs. Tesla also dominated overall European EV sales in March, before dropping behind Volkswagen in April.

While charging infrastructure remains one of the largest barriers to mainstream vehicle adoption throughout the world, Tesla surpassed 6,000 Superchargers across Europe earlier this year, across 600 different locations – representing a major European shift towards zero and low-emissions vehicles over the past few years.
