Elon Musk Signs Autographs, Chats with Fans at Giga Berlin for 6 Minutes [VIDEO]
Tesla CEO Elon Musk was spotted talking with reporters and signing autographs outside of Gigafactory Berlin in a new video from Ralf 100proE, during his recent visit to the under-construction production facility.
When asked why he was at the Grünheide facility, Musk responded saying he thinks the company is “making pretty good progress” on the factory, representing a seeming awakening from the malaise of the German approval processes over the past few months.
In response, Musk said, “You can see for yourself – you know, we’ve made a lot of progresses things are moving.” Later in the conversation, when asked about the completion and beginning of production at the Brandenburg-based facility, Musk said, “It should hopefully be by the end of this year. It’s hard to predict with precision, because you can only make the cause when all of the pieces are here. It’s hard to ship a car that’s 99% complete.”
Commenting on rules and how societies develop them – perhaps alluding to the labyrinth of rules Tesla has struggled to follow perfectly as it works on its Gigafactory Berlin – Musk said there should also be a removal process for the natural accumulation of these rules.
Musk said, “Rules are immortal. Like once a rule is put in place, it’s not like it has a natural lifespan.” Musk continued, “It will just be there forever. So the longer like, you know, a society keeps going, the more rules accumulate, and so there should be some kind of active process for removal of rules. And you get more and more rules until, eventually, you can’t do anything.”
