SpaceX is Worth $74 Billion Based on its Latest Fundraising Round

SpaceX has been blasting off, both figuratively and literally, for at least a few years now, and in the company’s recent financial run, it has raised an impressive amount of capital in new equity.

SpaceX held a second close of roughly $314 million (USD), not long after having raised $850 million (USD) in February alone, bringing the company up to a total of $1.16 billion in equity, according to CNBC.

The Elon Musk-led company’s valuation during the fundraising round was about $74 billion, and they currently employ operations in both Starlink satellite internet and Starship space exploration and transport projects.

Starlink is SpaceX’s low-Earth orbit satellite internet constellation, which is rapidly expanding and plans to service customers around the world by the end of 2022. The company arm is particularly focused on bringing high-speed internet to the world’s most rural, remote locations.

In addition to Starlink, the company generates much of its allure in its Starship rocket-launching projects, in which SpaceX frequently partners with NASA, and will continue to, in order to see out a number of different contracts between the company and agency for the foreseeable future.

Alongside the launches for NASA, SpaceX launches its own Starlink satellites, of which the company confirmed it had launched roughly 1,320 total earlier this month.
