Tesla Warns Model 3 Owners in Germany of Possible Water Leak in Cabin
Tesla has been criticized in the past for its quality control concerns, but a new service message has appeared that, at the least, makes it a little more convenient for owners to find out their vehicle’s need attention.
A new service message has appeared for some Tesla Model 3 owners in Germany, according to a tweet Wednesday from @Tesla_Adri. The post includes a screenshot of the message in German, as displayed on the car’s infotainment screen, encouraging the user to take the car into a service center due to misapplied glue that could let water seep into the cabin.
Some model 3 owners in germany received this message on their screen. The message states that the car has to come into the SeC to get checked. Some glue might have been applied incorrectly and water could get into the cabin. Pretty convenient way of notifying affected owners. pic.twitter.com/5WXO2sipEo

Translated from German to English, the message reads “We have noticed that your vehicle may have a small amount of water seeping into the cabin. Please arrange a service appointment as soon as possible. We’ll check your vehicle and improve it if necessary.”
Earlier in March, Tesla released a plan to replace Model 3 and Model Y heat pump sensors after reports of them failing after a certain period of time. The Model 3 has also had consistent issues with paint thickness, panel placement, and a number of other small quality control problems, though this kind of service message is useful in not letting the user simply find problems on their own.
