Tesla and CEO Elon Musk are all-in when it comes to Bitcoin, as the company not only has a $1.5 billion investment in the cryptocurrency but also recently started accepting payment of the latter for vehicle purchases.

The electric vehicle maker is also helpful to the Bitcoin community as well, as the open source BTCPay Server on Tuesday acknowledged Tesla’s help in patching a vulnerability.

“We want to thank @Tesla for submitting the disclosure that led to these fixes and helping us with remediation. Thank you for contributing to the community and helping keep our users safe. ?”, said BTCPay Server, commenting on the latter security update v1.0.7.1.

Essentially, a vulnerability in the BTCPay Server was found in its code and was discovered by Tesla, which in turn contacted the open source payment processor, who then patched the security hole.

“We want to thank @teslamotors for filing a responsible disclosure, helping us with remediation, and handling the situation professionally,” added BTCPay Server on Github.

Tesla software engineers are some of the smartest on the planet. It’s not surprising they would be able to find a code vulnerability and also do the right thing by reporting it to those affected.
