Tesla Gigafactory Austin Construction Compared Side-by-Side: Day 100 vs. 200 [4K VIDEO]

Tesla’s Gigafactory Austin is soon set to be the company’s United States hub, with CEO Elon Musk having personally moved from California to Texas, alongside reports last year of his frustration with the state of California.

In the newest update video from Jeff Roberts’s Tesla-focused YouTube channel, posted Sunday, Jeff’s drone depicts the major differences between construction days 100 and 200 side-by-side.

The footage is telling for viewers wondering just how much progress Tesla can make in 100 days, and for anyone trying to grasp the speed at which this site is coming together.

In the last 100 days, we’ve seen Gigafactory Austin go from the beginning stages of its cemented, structural foundations, to the near completion of the structures themselves. Much of the building which wasn’t there on day 100 is now being roofed, in preparation for interior setup.

While the site isn’t quite complete yet, Tesla is planning for “substantial completion” of the factory by May 2021, with Cybertrucks set for first deliveries later this year.

In any case, Jeff’s newest video offers a lot of perspective on how quickly Tesla’s build processes actually move. And if Gigafactory Texas is anything like the company’s Gigafactory in Shanghai, it’s likely to be fully operational by the end of this year – a major benefit for Tesla fans in the company’s home market of the US (and for those waiting for the Cybertruck).
