Elon Musk Urges Tesla Employees to ‘Increase Production’ for Q4 in Leaked Email

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is urging its employees to ‘increase production’ for the rest of the fourth quarter, according to an allegedly leaked email, reports Tesmanian (use coupon code TESLANORTH10 to save 10% off accessories).

“We are fortunate to have the high-class problem of demand being quite a bit higher than production this quarter,” wrote Musk.

“To ensure that we have the best possible outcome and earn the trust of the customers and investors who have placed their faith and hard-earned money with us, we need to increase production for the remainder of the quarter as much as possible,” pleaded the CEO.

“I would only send this note if it really mattered,” stressed Musk, concluding with, “[By the way], please send me a note directly if you see ways to improve output, but feel that your voice is not being heard.”

“We have the capacity installed to produce and deliver 500,000 vehicles this year. While achieving this goal has become more difficult, delivering half a million vehicles in 2020 remains our target. Achieving this target depends primarily on quarter over quarter increases in Model Y and Shanghai production, as well as further improvements in logistics and delivery efficiency at higher volume levels,” explained Tesla, back in October.

Tesla has one target in mind and that’s hitting 500,000 vehicle deliveries in 2020, which would be a first for the company. According to projections, Tesla would need to deliver roughly 180,000 vehicles for the quarter. Time to wait and see what Tesla can do in the final end-of-quarter push.
