Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta: Redwood City to Santa Cruz, California [4K VIDEO]
Autonomous driving is here, though only time will tell which company can offer the best in autonomous driving systems. Other companies have their eyes on the next iterations of the technology, though currently, Tesla has a rather solid head start.
In a video released Sunday by YouTube channel Teslaraj, the host captures their drive from Redwood City, California to Santa Cruz, California with Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) engaged the whole time. The trip, captured in time-lapse form for brevity, includes zero interventions with the vehicle’s FSD system, despite the fact that the driver kept at least one hand on the wheel at all times, as is instructed at this stage in autonomous driving systems.
Tesla’s FSD system was released as a limited beta last month, and reaction videos and drives have been popping up all over the internet to debut the new technology’s abilities.
And what they’re showing so far in their infancy has already been extremely impressive. In addition, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that the company will gather substantially more data for its navigation systems by the end of the year, when the system is also set to go from beta to public release, further optimizing the vehicle’s capacities.
As the world accelerates towards increased levels of automation every day, we can expect to see a number of companies debut their own versions of the autonomous driving system – and as they do, consumers have a lot to look forward to.
