Back in October, Amazon announced a partnership with electric vehicle maker, Rivian, to produce custom delivery vans. Three custom delivery vehicle models are expected to deliver in 2021, and now one of the first vans has been spotted outside of Rivan headquarters.

Numerous images of one Rivan Amazon delivery van were spotted by @klwtts in California. It’s unclear if the pictured van is a final version or just a prototype out testing on the road.

While the design isn’t mind-blowing by any means, it’s basic and utilitarian and as an electric delivery van, will help reduce emissions on the streets. The front of the van looks like a rip-off of the Honda E.

These upcoming Rivian Amazon delivery vans will have numerous safety features, including Alexa for hands-free access (naturally of course), along with 360-degree exterior cameras.

Amazon plans to be a net-zero carbon producer by 2040 and hopes to have 10,000 Amazon EVs on the roads by 2022, and 100,000 by 2030.

Hopefully, in the future, Tesla will consider a utility van or even a regular mini-van EV, as that’s one segment the company has still yet to conquer. Maybe Tesla can make a sexy mini-van–or is that an oxymoron?
