The internet is ablaze with videos of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving beta, and the results are exciting, to say the least.
In a new video released by YouTube host Brandon M, Brandon and another person use a drone view to capture themselves using Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) to drive on rural Nevada roads. The views captured in the video are pretty incredible, and pretty telling too, regarding how the FSD system actually moves the car around on a road.
The crew starts out on what appears to be a lightly paved or gravel road. For the most part, the Tesla Model 3 does a good job, though it begins to struggle a little bit with the recognition of the edge of the road. Fortunately, as FSD is supposed to be used, the driver was on standby and ready to grab the steering wheel.
By and large, Brandon reports that the lane tracking has improved in the 2020.40.8.12 update, though there’s still some weaving further along, as you can see from the drone footage.
Aside from a few major hiccups, the test goes rather smoothly, and once again shows a pretty impressive semi-autonomous driving system from the EV company.
