Charleston and Hilton Head, SC Getting New Tesla Superchargers
As the transition from conventional gas vehicles to electric vehicles (EVs) takes hold, the charging infrastructure will have a long way to go before it’s comparable to the role of gas stations. Still, Tesla and other companies are expanding their charging network as much as possible, and the change isn’t unwelcome.
Tesla is building new Superchargers in Charleston, South Carolina and Hilton Head South Carolina, according to the Tesla Motors Club forum. The news comes to us from the president of the Charleston Tesla group, who originally posted the information to Facebook.
@elonmusk Charleston, South Carolina has waited years for a Supercharger station. We have the population and the Tesla drivers — but no Supercharger. I've tweeted you this four times. Can you help us out?

According to the post, Tesla will be opening its Hilton Head Supercharger lot in this month, with its Charleston location opening next month. Both of these are set to include 8 charging stalls. Additionally, Tesla opened a new Supercharger lot in Brunswich, Georgia in August, with a total of 24 charging stalls.
The post also claims that there will be another 1-2 other Superchargers within the Charleston area, set to be built within the next couple of years.
As the EV network of chargers grows, as well as the affordability of new all-electric automobile offerings, hopefully, the customer base will continue to grow too. It’s already been predicted that Tesla will sell 800,000 vehicles in 2021, and it certainly doesn’t seem outside the realm of possibility.
