Tesla India Order Configurator Launches January 2021 Says Elon Musk
With recent reports of Tesla looking at Bengaluru for expansion into India, many are left wondering what the timeline will look like. For those wondering, the answer just might come sooner than expected.
In a response on Twitter Monday morning, Tesla CEO Elon Musk told a user that the company would probably release an order configurator for its India expansion in January 2021.
Twitter account @TeslaClubIN tweeted to Musk, “Hey Elon, is there an Tesla India team working on the next year for sure scheduled Tesla entry. If so, is there a way for us and reservation holders to contact them.” The user continued, “Our Tesla accounts do not have any customer care details as we are unable to select India as a country option.”

Currently, Tesla has factories in California in the United States and in Shanghai, China, with two more on the way – one in Austin, Texas within the US and the other in Berlin, Germany. Those under construction are set to be completed summer of 2021, but an expansion to India will mark a major upgrade for the Asian market.
Whatever the timeline may look like for the EV company’s expansion into India, it will certainly make a lot of people happy – and those same people can likely begin placing their orders for non-imported Teslas by January 2021.
