Tesla Model Y vs. Mustang GT350: Which is Faster From a Rolling Start? [VIDEO]
In a faceoff between the modern Tesla Model Y and the classic Mustang GT350, which car would win?
EatSleepDrive poses the same question in a new video released on Friday.
The video features two drive tests with each vehicle side by side, both tests looking to see the capacity of each car from 30 and 45 mile-per-hour rolls. Ultimately, the GT350 has no chance keeping up with the electric Model Y.
Commenting on the video after the race, the host says, “My favorite part about that whole race is that the Tesla just walks away so quickly, so quietly – it’s so effortless. Then, meanwhile you hear in the background that GT350 with that screaming, flat-plane crank V8 just wailing away trying to keep up.” He continued, with a laugh, “And obviously, it just can’t do it.”
The host goes on to admit a well-known fact in the car world today: we have reached the age where the electric engine is simply more powerful than the conventional gas engine, and we should be ready to see more and more of this as needs for sustainability continue to grow.
While it’s certainly not the first time a Tesla has outpaced conventional engines, the GT350 is a classic, and seeing an electric vehicle easily overtake the classic car’s loud roaring engine is something that all EV enthusiasts can enjoy.
