Tesla to Expand Sales Force in U.S., Open New Stores in Canada

Over the last year, the direction of Tesla’s sales expansion has changed immensely, in spite of the fact that their steady growth has not. But in the wake of the company’s Q2 figure success, it’s looking to continue to expand its in-person expansion efforts into new markets, even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In February 2019 The Verge reported that Tesla had planned to close many of its retail stores, in order to focus on selling cars online. However, it was only a few months later that Elon Musk ramped up efforts to begin opening retail stores throughout new markets again, in a seeming total shift of plans.

Today, according to Electrek, Tesla is seeking to expand its storefront operations throughout the world – particularly in North America. Using a combination of internal sources and new job listings, Electrek was able to determine current, prospective retail locations for expanded Tesla operations throughout North America.

These include U.S. cities Tucson, Arizona, El Paso, Texas, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Smithtown, New York, and Canadian cities Laval, Québec, and Ottawa, Ontario.

Beyond North America, the company also plots its first location in Singapore, as well as hundreds of new sales positions listed in China, among others yet.

It’s no doubt that, even throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, Musk has changed his pace more than a few times. But regardless, it’s hard to deny that Tesla’s almost-dominating success in the first half of the year proves whatever they’re doing is working.
