Tesla is no stranger to attention in the media. The company has an eccentric CEO at the helm. Their vehicles attract a variety of television personalities. The electric vehicle maker owes some part of its success to its public image. Tesla’s autonomous driving features represent a leading force in the market, with large auto makers such as Ford mimicking the software. In a new ad campaign from Burger King, Tesla Autopilot gets some lengthy screen time.

As the video “Autopilot Whopper” from Burger King states, “Smart cars are smart enough to brake for a Whopper.” The video displays Tesla’s recent Autopilot update on a vehicle’s interior touchscreen. The ad then showcases a Burger King sign integrated into the maps. When the driver approaches the restaurant, the Autopilot feature slows the car to a stop.

The video demonstrates Tesla’s Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control mode which has seen a number of improvements since its initial launch. The new campaign from Burger King incentives drivers to make full use of the feature. With a fun promotional program as reported by Teslarati, “drivers must have their “smart car” stop at a Burger King outlet, and they must post a photo or video with the hashtags #AutopilotWhopper and #FreeWhopper to Twitter or Facebook. Within 24 hours, a code for a free Whopper sandwich will be sent.”
