The latest software update from Tesla brought a slew of upgrades to drivers. With 2020.24.6, drivers enjoy enhanced backup camera views and On-Route Battery Warmup. But the update also introduced some improvements to Tesla Autopilot features. A new video from mouser58907 shows off Tesla Autopilot’s ability to accelerate through green lights in the new update.

As the video’s description states, there are a few caveats to this new intersection adjustment. First and foremost, drivers should always be aware when using any Tesla Autopilot feature. Newer features require an especially keen attention on the roads. With the new update, rather than pushing down the gear selector to confirm acceleration through an intersection, Autopilot can do this on its own. However, the system must have a leading vehicle in front of it.

As the video demonstrates, the stop line in the driving visualization display on the vehicle’s touchscreen turns green to indicate the acceleration through an intersection. According to the update notes from Tesla, “This software update contains improvements to our new Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control feature. Your vehicle will no longer require driver confirmation to continue through green lights while there is a lead vehicle ahead of you and not in a turn lane. Every driver is responsible for remaining alert and active when using Autopilot and must be prepared to take action at any time.”
