Tesla Inc. recently released a new software update for its electric vehicles. The update carries several new and exciting features. In Update 2020.16.2.1 drivers now have access to pedestrian animations on their screens. In a new YouTube video posted by Black Tesla, viewers get a closer look at the new update’s pedestrian animations.
Tesla’s autopilot and navigation systems continue to shine with this new update. Previous updates brought substantial changes to the vehicle’s autopilot system with traffic light and stop sign control. However, with the latest update, the subtle addition of pedestrian animations serve to further flesh out Tesla’s camera and sensor awareness.
As the video demonstrates, the update focuses on user interface clean up. The Tesla Toybox, for example, allows for user customization to optimize efficiency. The charging interface also comes with a filter that controls for charging speed. This gives drivers the ability to sort by a number of search conditions before navigating toward a charging site.
The video then delves into changes in the update’s visualization features. One such feature, pedestrian animations, passed by as an undocumented change in the update. While the addition may seem minor, it demonstrates a leap in the car’s confidence when navigating city strees.
