Tesla’s Robotaxi app is offering new riders a free first trip in Dallas and Houston, with the fare line reading “First ride on us” and a $0.00 total on a Houston booking inside the company’s expanded Houston service map.

Tracker Ethan McKanna, who runs the @rtaxitracker account, shared the in-app screenshot at 7:09 PM PT on Wednesday, October 28, then said the promo appeared live in Dallas and Houston but not Austin in his testing.

That booking card listed a Houston drop-off on Witte Road, a pickup around 9:28 PM local time, and a Book Ride button under the zeroed-out fare. Tesla has not confirmed the offer from its Robotaxi or corporate accounts, so the picture for now rests on the app screen and McKanna’s city checks.

Dallas and Houston have been on Tesla’s unsupervised roster since the company opened driverless Model Y rides in both cities in April. Houston’s geofence grew sharply this week, and the Houston police union backed Robotaxi a day later as another way to get home safely after a night out.

Fleet scale is rising alongside the promo. Cybercab recently surpassed Model Y on Tesla’s Texas robotaxi registry, giving the network more cars to fill those first trips if the free offer holds.

Would a $0 first ride be enough to get you into a Robotaxi in Dallas or Houston, or were you already planning to try one?
