Tesla is offering 0% interest financing on the Model 3 and Model Y in Colombia, Tesla LATAM announced on X on Friday. The regional account posted that the rate is “now available” for both cars, and that it’s valid for deliveries before December 31, 2026. It’s the latest push in a market where the Model Y has become the best-selling car in the country.

The post itself doesn’t spell out the fine print, and neither do the two images attached to it, which show a Model Y from behind and a white Model 3 on the road. According to Semana, which cited Tesla’s Colombian website, buyers need to pay 50% of the price up front and can finance the rest over a maximum of 36 months. The offer is limited to individuals rather than companies, and each loan has to be approved by Banco Santander Colombia.
By Semana’s math, a Model Y priced at about COP 120,990,000 would need a COP 60,495,000 down payment, with the other half split into 36 monthly payments of COP 1,680,417. Tesla’s Colombian configurator currently lists the Model 3 starting at COP 114,990,000 and the Model Y starting at COP 119,990,000, with deliveries out of Mosquera, just west of Bogotá.
Colombian buyers are getting a better deal than Americans right now. In the US, Tesla pushed most Model Y financing up to 2.49% APR this week, a day after its third-quarter earnings. The year-end deadline in Colombia also lines up with Tesla’s usual fourth-quarter push to deliver as many cars as possible.
Tesla officially launched in Colombia on November 20, 2025, opening its first experience center in Bogotá, with deliveries starting in early 2026. Demand has been strong ever since. Semana reports the Model Y racked up 14,381 registrations from January through September, well ahead of the second-place Renault Duster at 9,027. The company has been widening its South American footprint too, from a big Supercharger buildout in Chile to a teased launch in Uruguay.
Would a 0% rate with 50% down get you into a Tesla, or is that down payment too steep?
