Tesla is officially expanding into Oman in 2027, with the company already hiring employees for its first store in Muscat. Pawel Trzpis, Tesla’s Market Lead for the Middle East, confirmed the plans in an October 13 LinkedIn post, marking the automaker’s latest expansion into the Gulf region.
“I am thrilled to share some exciting news – Tesla is officially entering Oman in 2027!” Trzpis wrote in his LinkedIn post. He said Tesla is “building our team from the ground up,” starting with sales positions, and described the opportunity to be part of “being part of something new in the Sultanate.” The company is currently recruiting Customer Experience Specialists, Sales Advisors and a Store Manager to help establish its presence in Oman.
All three positions are listed on Tesla’s careers website as full-time Sales and Customer Support jobs based in Muscat, with the Store Manager opening pointing to plans for a physical retail location. Tesla has not posted any service or Supercharger positions for Oman, and neither the company nor the Omani government has issued a formal announcement with additional details. That leaves several questions unanswered, including vehicle pricing, the exact launch date in 2027 and which models, such as the Model Y, will be available when sales begin.
Oman will become the latest addition to Tesla’s growing presence in the Middle East, where the company has been expanding for nearly a decade. Tesla first entered the region in 2017 with its launch in the United Arab Emirates, followed by online orders opening in Qatar in December 2023 and the country’s first permanent Tesla store and Supercharger in Doha in June 2024. Saudi Arabia joined the list in April 2025 with a launch event in Riyadh featuring the Cybertruck and refreshed Model Y, while Qatar later joined the UAE and Saudi Arabia among the first international markets outside North America to receive the Cybertruck.
Tesla has also been expanding its charging infrastructure across the region, including a decision earlier this year to turn on free Supercharging in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar during a period of regional uncertainty. That initiative covered charging stations in Riyadh, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha, giving Tesla owners access to free charging across several major Gulf cities. Beyond vehicle sales and charging, Tesla is also involved in autonomous driving development in the region and was among the first companies to test at Dubai‘s new Mobility Labs proving ground in September.
Tesla’s name is not entirely new in Oman, either. In December 2018, the Oman Observer reported that Majid Al Futtaim had partnered with Tesla to install four free electric vehicle charging stations at City Centre Muscat, making it the first shopping mall in the Sultanate to offer the service. Opening an official Tesla store would take things further, giving customers in Oman a local location to explore the vehicles, schedule demo drives and place orders rather than relying on imports.
