Tesla Model Y Sweeps All Five Nordic Markets in September

Tesla Model Y lineup
la Europe said on October 7, 2026, that the Model Y was the best-selling passenger vehicle in all five Nordic markets in September — Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden — with more than one in four new cars registered in Norway a Model Y.

The regional account put the sweep in one line: Model Y was No. 1 across the Nordics in September, best-selling passenger vehicle in every market named. Norway’s share stood out hardest — more than 1 in 4 new registrations was a Model Y. Tesla was also the top-selling brand overall in Denmark, Iceland, and Norway.

Tesla Europe did not publish unit counts by country, year-over-year percentages, or exact Norway share beyond “more than 1 in 4,” and it did not claim brand leadership in Finland or Sweden in the October 7 post.

A follow-up from the same account added the loyalty beat: 3 in 4 Norwegian Tesla owners make their next car another Tesla. The post did not cite the survey source, sample size, or date range behind that figure.

The September sweep lands on ground Tesla has already dense-packed in the region. Norway recently hit 200,000 registered Teslas — about 20% of EVs in the country — and Denmark crossed 100,000 vehicles on the road. The Model Y has also previously overtaken the Nissan Leaf as Norway’s all-time best-selling EV.

For now the confirmed beat is the five-market Model Y passenger-car sweep in September, Norway’s greater-than-one-in-four share, brand leadership in Denmark, Iceland, and Norway, and the three-in-four Norwegian loyalty claim. Per-country volumes and the loyalty methodology remain open until Tesla Europe or national registries publish more detail.
