Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, beating the company-compiled analyst consensus of 461,974 by 24,558 vehicles, or about 5.3 percent, marking a second straight quarter in which deliveries came in well ahead of analyst estimates.

Tesla produced 464,391 vehicles during the quarter and deployed 13.7 GWh of energy storage products. Deliveries of the Model 3 and Model Y totaled 478,237, while all other models accounted for 8,295 deliveries.

“In the third quarter, we produced over 464,000 vehicles, delivered over 486,000 vehicles and deployed 13.7 GWh of energy storage products,” Tesla said Friday in its October 2 release. The company added, “Thank you to all of our customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and supporters who helped us achieve these results.”

The analyst consensus, published September 29, called for 461,974 vehicle deliveries and 15.9 GWh of energy storage deployments. While vehicle deliveries beat that estimate by 24,558, Tesla’s 13.7 GWh of storage deployments came in below the 15.9 GWh consensus.

The result also topped the previous quarter. Tesla delivered 480,126 vehicles in Q2 2026, beating expectations of 406,024 by more than 74,000 vehicles. Chief financial officer Vaibhav Taneja said on the July earnings call that Tesla exited the second quarter with its largest order backlog since 2023.

Third-quarter deliveries increased about 1.3 percent from Q2 2026, but remained about 2.1 percent below the record 497,099 vehicles delivered in Q3 2025. That year-ago quarter was boosted by American buyers rushing to take delivery before the $7,500 federal EV tax credit expired on September 30, 2025.

Tesla will provide the full financial picture on October 21, 2026, when it reports third-quarter earnings after market close. Management will then hold a live Q&A webcast at 4:30 p.m. Central Time to discuss the company’s financial and business results and outlook.
