Tesla Upgrades Every Model 3 With 16-Inch Screen in U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico

Tesla has upgraded every Model 3 sold in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico with a larger 16-inch center touchscreen, while also boosting Model 3 Performance range and power.
Tesla North America said Thursday that “Every Model 3 in the US, Puerto Rico & Mexico now comes with a larger 16″ center touchscreen,” replacing the smaller display previously standard and making the bigger screen standard across the full lineup in the three markets.
The update follows earlier indications that Tesla was preparing a new display and darker cabin treatment for Model 3. Thursday’s announcement confirms the larger screen is now standard equipment on every Model 3 sold in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Model 3 Performance receives several additional upgrades. Tesla said the model now gets a black headliner, while range has increased to 316 miles from 309 miles, a gain of 7 miles, and peak power is improved to 528 hp.
Tesla also said the Model 3 Premium AWD “accelerates even quicker at 3.8 seconds 0-60 (down from 4.2 seconds).”
The changes mirror the interior overhaul Tesla rolled out on the Model Y, which also gained a 16-inch touchscreen and black headliner in North America earlier this year.
Tesla continues to tune the Model 3 by region. The company also detailed a vehicle-to-load upgrade for Model 3 in Korea, showing how the sedan’s features and equipment keep varying by market.
For buyers in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico, the most visible change is the larger 16-inch center display on every Model 3, while Performance shoppers also pick up a black headliner, more range and higher peak power. Canadian buyers, meanwhile, are left wondering when these upgrades will make their way to Canada.
