Tesla is rolling out software version 2026.38 to legacy Model 3 and Model Y vehicles with AMD chips, bringing the company’s updated driving visualizations to older cars that had remained on the previous look.
Release notes tracked by Tessie show the update adds a “Visual Updates” feature with higher quality images of the car on the center display and an enhanced park scene environment. Tessie data lists the version as released September 30 and rolling out.
The change closes a visual gap for owners of these older vehicles. Tesla has continued refining what its cars render on screen, including new visualizations for emergency vehicles, buses and more. Drivers will also see an enhanced park scene environment when the car is stationary. The visualizations now match what newer vehicles show, including surrounding vehicles, lanes and lane markings.
Recent Tesla software releases have also varied by hardware generation. The spring update focused on Intel-based Model 3 and Y vehicles, while the company also recently brought FSD v14.2 Lite to Hardware 3 Model S and X.
Software version 2026.38 also includes dynamic headlight leveling, which automatically adjusts the low beams based on driving conditions and nearby traffic, along with security improvements. With the update now listed as rolling out, owners of legacy Model 3 and Model Y vehicles with AMD chips can check the Software tab in the car or the Tesla app for availability.
