Tesla Listed the Wrong 0-100 Time for the New Model 3 in Canada
Tesla has quietly updated its Canadian configurator for the new Model 3 Premium Rear-Wheel Drive, adjusting the 0–100 km/h acceleration time to 5.2 seconds. This change comes just 24 hours after the site initially listed a much faster 4.2-second sprint on Friday.
The update brings the Canadian specification in line with the Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive currently produced at Giga Shanghai. When orders reopened yesterday with a new $39,490 CAD starting price, the 4.2-second figure raised eyebrows among enthusiasts, as it would have made the entry-level trim significantly quicker than the Chinese-market version.

The shift to a 5.2-second time confirms that Canadian buyers will receive the same powertrain configuration found in other markets supplied by Tesla’s Chinese factory. While a full second slower than the initial listing, the 5.2-second time remains competitive for the segment and is consistent with the performance expected from the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells used in Shanghai production.
This technical correction does not impact the other updated specs for the Model 3 Premium RWD. The vehicle maintains its 463 km EPA-estimated range and 201 km/h top speed. The pricing also remains unchanged, with the sedan starting at $42,116 CAD after all mandatory fees.
Delivery windows for these updated models are still slated for June 2026.
