Tesla China Extends Model 3/Y Discounts to October 31, Trims Model Y to CNY 7,000

China’s electric vehicle price war is cooling into autumn, with Tesla adjusting its incentives. The discounts will continue into October, but the Model Y reduction is becoming smaller.

Tesla China has extended its limited-time tail-payment discount on the Model 3 and Model Y through October 31, 2026, according to the company’s official promotions page. The Model 3 continues with its CNY 5,000 reduction (about US$745 or C$1,055), while the Model Y discount has been reduced to CNY 7,000 (about US$1,040 or C$1,475). Both discounts come off the final amount due when the buyer takes delivery.

That lower Model Y amount follows the September round of incentives, when the SUV received a CNY 10,000 tail-payment cut. Tsla Chan first reported the updated figures, which Tesla China’s official promotions page now confirms.

The offer applies to new Model 3 and Model Y vehicles ordered and delivered between September 25 and October 31. It is limited to one discount per vehicle and cannot be combined with other Tesla China tail-payment offers. Orders must be placed and vehicles delivered within that window to qualify.

Tesla has used several incentive approaches in China, including paint credits and loyalty points as well as inventory-linked cash reductions. Demand has largely held up, with Model Y orders in China previously extending delivery estimates into the new year. The approach lets Tesla fine-tune demand without changing sticker prices across its lineup.

Customers considering a new Model 3 or Model Y now have until October 31 to receive the tail-payment cut, although the smaller Model Y discount indicates Tesla may see less need to increase the incentive. There are still about five weeks left to lock in the savings.
