Starlink Gen3 Satellites Will Deliver 10 Tbps Each, Musk Says

Elon Musk said each next-generation Starlink “Gen3” satellite will deliver about 10 terabits per second of connectivity in both directions, with a path to more than 100 Tbps per satellite.
Each satellite will draw 250 kW of power and carry a SpaceX-designed Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 computer, according to Musk’s reply.
Musk posted the details in a reply on X to @XFreeze, whose post noted the FCC accepted SpaceX’s Gen3 application for filing on September 18. SpaceX is seeking authority to deploy up to 100,000 Gen3 satellites in very-low-Earth orbit across two altitude bands (323 to 327.5 km and 473 to 477.5 km), with inclinations from 26 to 96.9 degrees.
Gen1 built the Starlink constellation and Gen2 scaled it; the network now counts more than 11,000 active spacecraft. Starship Flight 14 is slated to deploy the first 26 production Starlink V3 satellites, each adding about 1 Tbps of constellation capacity.
SpaceX expects the flight to generate revenue by flying production Starlink V3 satellites, while the ongoing Falcon 9 Starlink cadence keeps filling out the existing network.
The filing remains an FCC application under review, not an approval. Deployment will depend on regulatory sign-off as well as Starship availability.
